I ARRIVE IN MUNCHEN!
I'm in the orange and this is how I look after flying over 7 time zones!!! not too shabby! just a little loose and loopy looking! You also see Leon, my friend Gina's son and Gina'a friend, Elke, when we are beside the river that flows through Munich.
So I arrived on time in Munich, my bags, all three of them, were the first three to come out of the chute! I load them up and head for the taxi, and the taxi driver speaks English and gives me a warm welcome and historical introduction to Munich's changes over the last 20 years. It's a 45 minute drive to Gina's house in the southern part of Munich. Something tells me that I told her the wrong time of arrival, and I wonder if the key will still be in the envelope, as we pull up in front of her house with a huge park across the street. No key. and I don't have a phone. and the driver just left. So I leave this job up to the angels, asking directly for their help. The first woman on the street I stop, lets me use her phone, but I'm not able to connect with Gina. So, then another car pulls up with 3 women and their birthday packages. I greet them as they get out of the car and they don't listen to me and look right through me as though I'm a ghost. And before I can say much they say, "NO,NO". (so I mark it up as part of the experiment) It's getting dark and I try one more driver, who lets me use his cell phone. I feel a little upset about the situation: why isnt Gina answering the phone? Then I say to myself, ok Gina, I forgive us both for communicating however we communicated. Then I call her and she answers. Annie, what happened to you? I thought you were coming in earlier today!
And I realize, that when I communicated my flight time, I must have glanced at my arrival time in Paris. So I made a mental note...'confirm my flight arrival time with people who are waiting for me,just before departure'. These self-corrections are common occurences with me when I am involved in leaping somewhere.
Rosie, the godmother of Leon, let me into the flat. She asked me,"Did you have to wait very long?" I immediately said, "no, not long at all!" I did this on purpose, because I've learned to make very little note of the obstacles in life.
Munich,Munich,Munich...I'm home in Munich!
