LEADING UP TO THE....THE ROLLING STONES!
I forgot to share with you that on the plane crossing the Atlantic, it felt like a two hour flight..shortest flight I've had yet! I must have slept like a frog under a tree! I did take AmazonHerbs Co. Calmazon..I've been having amazingly consistent results..
My first night in Munich in Gina's flat where her office is. I wake up the next morning and she has stopped by to leave me famous German pastry and pretzel with a note about meeting up with Rosie and Leon. 10:00am. Something tells me I've got more time and I offer my first chant on the european continent..a frog calling from across the pond! (I've been instructed, whatever I do, don't miss a day without chanting and creating elegant art..and I find that if I do those two things, I have amazing synchronicities, amazing miracles, small and big)
Rosie arrives at 10:45 and I leap into my day clothes in ten minutes and fly out the door, sensing that their scheduled meeting with Elke and daughter is typical German on-time! It is with great delight that I hop into Rosie's BMW sports car with my new companion, 9 yr. old Leon. And as soon as we arrive at the park to wait, Leon begins playing with his soccer ball and I immediately jump in to take it away from him. This is our bonding-soccer. (Later he tells another friend, I am one of the best soccer players he has found to challenge him. Wow, I'll take that compliment!)
Elke arrives with her daughter, Susma(no pic of Susma, yet) and their two beloved dogs, both rescued from the streets of Spain, and we go to the river's edge and unpack chairs and picnic and there we stay all afternoon. (Gina is delivering a workshop all weekend,so I haven't seen her up to this point.)Elke as it turns out, met Baba Muktananda in California, Baba , who is the teacher of my teacher, Gurumayi.
She is very familiar with my chanting. Elke spent many years in Spain, just miles from the Jewel, where I am headed.
This Sunday in Munich people are everywhere on their bikes. I think of my Uncle Al and AuntDonna, Aunt Betty, who all spent alot of time in Germany, and taught me the love of the German people...their vigor for living life.
In the evening, Gina meet up with us in the center. We are now four going to the Rolling Stones concert! We catch the S Bahn train to the Olympic Village and walk with thousands to the entrances of the stadium. The train is filled with Stones enthusaists. One man serenades us with an entire album of Stones music and after we get off, he brings me a World Cup Soccer tissue packet. (Gina says he's my first sign of land for my perfect mate!) The Stones begin as night falls. It is dramatic and magical. They have a full stage production and more surprises for effects than one could imagine. Mick Jagger is everything he ever was...he bounces around on the stage on fire, the entire time! He must be at least 60. Is he taking Inner Light Greens? glump, glump!!!
At one point the mid section of the stage breaks off and gradually rolls into the center of the field, with Mick and band on it, reaching out to the crowds.
Mick can't give enough. Literally.
All of the band are having a roaring good time. I think to myself...this is celebrating life..and I wonder what kind of vibration goes out to the planet. On Dr.Emoto's scale of megahurtz measurement, where does this fall? Are the dolphins and the whales digging this? Dr. Emoto talks about music created at different times to heal different episodes of human experience. Something tells me the Rolling Stones are here to heal.
The Munich fans greet the anticipated Stones with their stadium wave...it is amazing to watch. They did the same thing for the World Cup Soccer matches. Munich is proud of their success in hosting a happy World Cup Soccer Event. Gina says the people of Germany felt such communion of spirit in those days...there was so much festivity and celebrating.
Can I say enough of the Rolling Stones? It was my first big rock concert of many years. I would have never thought of it myself. Gina thought of it. And I was so moved by Mick being Mick, and for the completely artistic, completely giving of themselves with their whole heart. I don't know the name of the keyboard player..he's the only one that looked tired and grey, and he gave it all he had until the last note! They exploded the final song with fireworks that beat the best I've seen.
